Job Description

Based in our Leeds location (LS27 0FU) your typical working hours will be Monday to Friday 6.00am to 2.30pm. Your primary responsibility will be for the held and/or returned parcels process within your depot and to effectively resolve and deal with customer queries and customer collections direct from the depot.

Additional responsibilities will include

  • To ensure all parcels are held in the relevant goods on hold area and reviewed before the start of the collections and delivery shift to capture any late diary requests.
  • Ensure all relevant parcels are removed from the goods on hold area in readiness for the night sort; for example, re-deliveries, specific customer delivery time requests, “ship to shop” deliveries, collect from depot customer requests.
  • Minor damaged parcels made secure for delivery but damaged or opened parcels requiring further inspection are taken to goods on hold area and investigate.
  • Complete “Return to Sender” requests within agreed time frames.
  • Collate all parcels in depot, which are not due for delivery and “hold” accordingly
  • Check for any missing parcels and report any security loss information to the Shift Manager
  • Support the identification and prevention of fraudulent consignments by holding parcels in the depot and informing security/fraud department
  • Re-label any collections which have not been processed correctly
  • Complete ‘Return to Sender’ requests within time frames, to go on outbound trailer for that day
  • Carry out parcel searches for customers as requested
  • Deal with customer collects until end of shift
  • Apply a ‘Held in Depot scan’ to all parcels in goods on hold cage at end of shift
  • Ensure all ‘unable to locate’ parcels have the correct delivery information and present for the AM sort
  • Damaged and open parcels that require further inspection are to be taken to goods on hold and investigated. If not presentable for delivery a “Request Further Information” (RFI) to be raised with the account holder
  • To undertake any other duties deemed as reasonable by the business

About You

As the successful candidate your CV will demonstrate previous warehouse administration and customer facing experience. Due to the nature of our business the ability to thrive in a busy and fast paced environment would be advantageous.

Your strong customer service and organisational skills will be fully utilised in this role. Alongside these requirements you will need to:

  • Be able to speak confidently in person, or over the phone, with internal and external customers.
  • Computer literate i.e. Word and Excel
  • High attention to detail/security aware
  • Be a team player and be able to manage your time effectively
