Purpose of Position

Reporting to the HR Business Partner your primary responsibility will be to provide a full Training and Learning & Development service to management teams  across 8 operational depots through expert knowledge, analysing development needs and creating effective performance action plans which align with strategy and achieve results. 

Establish and develop effective relationships/partnerships within the organisation to proactively support and coach behavioural skills with high performers, low performers and for management development.

The 8 Depots you will support are are  Bournemouth, Guildford, Newbury, Portsmouth, Radlett, Reading, Southall and Southampton so you must be able to travel to these depots.

Key Responsibilities   

  • To mentor, coach and develop different levels of management across depots in the geographical area
  • To analyse and identify training and development needs
  • Facilitate learning interventions via face-to-face workshops, or one-to-one
  • Carry out professional coaching and mentoring sessions with managers
  • Develop PDPs for managements to track development
  • To prepare and deliver management soft skills training
  • Monitor and evaluate on going training activities
  • Manage succession planning for each business unit

    What we are looking for

    This is a real  "hands on" T&D Business Partner role, where you will be the sole T&D expert supporting this region so you must be comfortable working autonomously.   As the successful candidate we would expect you to have the following skills, /knowledge and experience:

    • CIPD qualification in Learning & Development
    • Proven experience in a training and development role
    • Has knowledge and experience working with popular L&D models
    • A seasoned trainer confident in delivering management training courses
    • Has impact and influence on others
    • Is confident and proactive in their approach
    • Can work independently under HRBP to manage the T&D function in the geographical area
    • Excellent communicator and ability to build relationships with all levels of management
    • Experience working with psychometric analysis tools is desirable
